The base model Rolex Submariner 16610 began production in 1989 and ended in 2010. This Rolex Kermit was introduced in 2003 as a limited edition celebration of the Submariner’s 50th anniversary. It proved such a great success it continued as a permanent model for a further 7 years.
The Kermit features a black dial with white dial hour markers and a date window at 3 o’clock. It’s distinguishing feature is it’s GREEN unidirectional dive time bezel. Like all the 16601 Submariner it is powered by automatic Calibre 3135 and was discontinued in 2010. It was replaced by the ALL GREEN Rolex Submariner HULK (116610LV) found here.
NEW KERMIT? In 2020 Rolex released a new Submariner range using the model code 1266nn(xx). In this series we have reference 126610LV featuring an Oystersteel case, black dial and a distinctly deeper green dive bezel. We assume this new model will inherit the nickname of the NEW Kermit. Changes have also been made to the introduction of Calibre 3235 by Rolex – providing 70 hours of power reserve. We have included the NEW Rolex Kermit 126610LV in this category.
While browsing the watches listed here please take care to avoid fakes – if concerned walk away and consider shopping with a certified pre-owned watch reseller like Chronext.co.uk (UK) or Bob’s Watches (USA)
