Introducing the Omega Diver 300

Visit the OmegaWatches.com website and browse their curent “Diver” range. It’s an all inclusive range incorporating several case sizes – from 28mm to 43.5mm. Models are available with bracelets of metal, rubber and NATO style nylon straps. They come equipped with either mechanical automatic calibres or quartz (battery) movements. But one thing is the same across all models – they are undeniably Omega Seamaster Diver watches.

The Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300m – it’s full & proper title – was introduced to the world in 1993. From the outset it was clear the Diver 300m was going to be something special. In that same year professional diver – Roland Specker – achieved a world record freshwater free dive. On his way down to the world record of 80m he wore the new Omega Seamster Diver 300m. The Diver 300m had arrived and established itself as a serious dive watch.

From there on the Diver 300 could be seen on the wrists of athletes, celebrities, divers and – of course – 007 James Bond. Here some highlights in those early days

  • 1994 – winner of “watch of the year” – voted for by readers of the German magazine Armbanduhren
  • 1995 – worn by the late Sir Peter Blake as the helmed “Team New Zealand” to victory in the Admiral’s Cup
  • 1995 – enter Pierce Brosnan, James Bond 007 in Golden Eye equipped with his first ever Omega watch.
